St Clair Tunnel Photo September 23, 2009, 10:00 am

This morning a CN train was coming from the Michigan side through the Sarnia Portal of the St. Clair Tunnel. I Stopped in at the Tim Hortons across the street from the tunnel and parked there. I didn’t have to wait long before there was a train coming through. There is some construction going on with the bridge which I wanted to photograph as well.  The steel railing is being replaced with concrete for safety reasons.  This will of course obstruct the view of the tunnel when passing by in a car. I am glad to see they have kept the pedestrian bridge intact which allow people to take photograph’s like these. I have also photographed the loading facility nearby. Coke from Imperial Oil is being loaded on trucks and shipped off to various locations by hopper car. Be sure to click on the photo to see it’s full size.
