Mr. Hincks And The Grand Trunk.—
For the purpose of injuring Mr. Hincks, it is asserted that the Grand Trunk won’t go on, that money can’t be had, and in, fact, that the whole thing has exploded. It is no such thing. The Contractor for that portion of the line from Toront to Kingston has arrived, and is getting every thing in order to go on with his work without delay, and the preparations for the commencement of the work along the whole line are in as forward a state as any reasonable man would wish. We oppose Mr. Hincks, in politics as warmly as any one, but we don’t feel inclined to injure the province by trumping up charges against him which cannot be substantiated. — Cobourg Star.
