Great Western Railroad
We are most happy in being able to state that the work at this end of the line is  progressing rapidly. We were informed today, by one of the engineers engaged on the road, that but seven miles remains to be done between this and Chatham, and that they were progressing at the rate of a mile a day, so that in the course of ten or twelve days at the furthest, the road between this and Chatham will be completed.  He also assured us that the whole line to the Falls would, beyond doubt, be completed by the first of January next.  Hurrah for Canada!  Canada Oak.
