Here are a few pictures of a small oval G scale layout I built at our summer place at Mountain Trout Camp. The camp ground was the site of a logging operation many years ago. Some of the original log cabins are now being used as summer cottages. Near by are the remanents of a logging chute which drops close to 300 feet from Gillies lake into Georgian Bay near the community of Dyers Bay.

Wyoming Garden Railway
Steve McLean started into G scale trains around the same time as I did. He is the one who first introduced me to the hobby. Steve had discovered Lavender Gardens Railway near Wiarton Ontario on a camping trip, and suggested it would be a great day trip from our camp for our family to make. We made a vist and checked out the beautiful gardens and railway and I was hooked. We also found a very convenient stop along the way that carried G scale trains, it was the Home Hardware in Goderich. Here are some photos of Steve’s Garden Railway.

The Beginings of a Garden Railway.
This is my layout in its first year , july 2007 . It is very basic, we had a lot of dirt to move to get this much done. The original size is about 10 x 20 ft. I managed to get some stone from the St. Clair tunnel when they dismantled the original retaining wall on the north side where the new tunnel is located. The photos I have posted are of myself, my two daughters Jennie and Katie and a photo of my wife stocking the new fish pond with 3 koi.
