I happened to see three BNSF Locomotives in the Sarrnia yard today as I was driving on the overpass on Indian Rd., so I stopped an snapped a few photos. I also have a few photos of a “Go Train” Locomotive at the Lambton Diesel shop today as well.

Dear Sirs, – Re Courtright Junction

I enclose herewith a description and plan of a portion of Lot 24 on the front concession of the Township of Moore which we have agreed to purchase from one Michael Donohue for railway purposes, and shall be obliged if you will prepare and send me a release of the same from your mortgage registered number 15476, dated 18th and regestered 19th November, 1902.
Mr. Donohue tells me that he has written you about this already and at his request I enclose you my cheqye for $37.15 being the purchase money with bank charges added.

I shall be obliged if you will send me the release at your earliest convenience. An ordinary partial discharge of the mortgage will be sufficient.

Mooretown Station

The Mooretown station was originally located along the present day CSX line that runs along the river through from Lake Erie to Sarnia. The station is now located at the Moore Museum along with a Canadian National Caboose and a C&O speeder. This station was a Pere Marquette station for about forty five years before being taken over by C&O. The Museum is a excellent destination for anyone looking to do a day trip. There are some very interesting exhibits and buildings to see.

Courtright Station, Canada Southern, New York Central, Michigan Central Railroad

I acquired a few photograph’s from John Riley that he had taken of the station in the 1960′s in order to build an HO scale model. Those of us interested in the railroads are fortunate that people like John have taken these photograph’s and given us a glimpse of what railroads were like in the past.I remember this station from when I was a child. The station was a turned into a location for a ferry crossing for automobiles. Our family had crossed there a few times to visit realitives state-side before it was closed down.

Steam Engine 6069

The Steam Locomotive 6069 located at Sarnia Bay is currently under going some desperately needed restoration. I hope to be able to post some news on the status of the project as it becomes available.
